Cosette speaks... Photo by Tom Story
Hi! My name is Cosette. I'm the official studio mascot of Broadway's Biggest Hits. If you ever hear barking in the background on the show, that's me. My master, Bud Wilkinson, named me after the waif in his favorite musical, "Les Miserables." Bud considers himself to be the "master of the house" (or studio), but I'm really in charge - that is, when I'm not running around the backyard with my favorite stuffed toy or sleeping at his feet under the control board.
Like the character of Cosette, I had a rather tough childhood. I was born in 1999 in rural Chinle, Arizona. That's on the Navajo Reservation. While I don't remember much of those early months, it must have been terrifying because Bud says I squealed with fear whenever he picked me up when I first came to live with him.
Bud adopted me in February 2000 from Foothills Animal Rescue, which had brought me the Valley of the Sun in hopes of finding me a good home. They say that I'm a black Labrador mix.
Now, living in Harwinton, Connecticut, I've got it made: Two meals a days, endless chew toys and a big bed to sleep on with my master at night.
No more "poor Cosette." This Cosette has been saved! I suggest that if you're looking to get a pet, check out the animal rescue organization in your area.
